The Associated Builders and Contractors NH/VT Chapter, in partnership with the OSHA Training Institute Education Center, hosted a Trench Safety Summit in Concord, NH to address these risks and provide resources to help keep workers safe.

Save the date for June 1 to join the ABC for a legislative luncheon at the NH state Capitol. The lunch will be an opportunity for legislators to learn how ABC NH/VT is working to address our industry's workforce shortage through the work and outreach of I Build NH and I Build VT. 

Associated Builders and Contractors announced its strong support for the Employee Rights Act, which was introduced today in the 118th Congress by Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., and Rep. Rick Allen, R-Ga.

The recent Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) offers asset owners and contractors considerable financial incentives for building qualified clean-energy projects. There are two main components to the IRA: apprenticeship utilization and the prevailing wage requirement. If these project requirements are met, the base credit increases from 6% to 30% for each project–and it brings more skilled workers into the industry at a time when they are desperately needed. This is outstanding motivation to get things right!

Nicole, a building trades student at Northwest Career and Technical Center in St. Albans, VT, started in the program at her school because she wanted to learn practical life skills that she couldn't learn by sitting in a classroom. Excellent teachers and classmates who feel more like family have inspired her. Three years later, she's nearing graduation and plans to pursue a career in the trades.
