Associated Builders and Contractors today announced its opposition to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration announcement of a proposed rule, Worker Walkaround Representative Designation Process. The proposed rule would allow an employee to choose a third-party representative, such as an outside union representative, to accompany an OSHA inspector into nonunion facilities.

Flooding victims anywhere in Vermont now have until Nov. 15, 2023, to file various individual and business tax returns and make tax payments, the Internal Revenue Service announced on July 13, 2023.

Associated Builders and Contractors announced its strong support for the Employee Rights Act, which was introduced today in the 118th Congress by Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., and Rep. Rick Allen, R-Ga.

The recent Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) offers asset owners and contractors considerable financial incentives for building qualified clean-energy projects. There are two main components to the IRA: apprenticeship utilization and the prevailing wage requirement. If these project requirements are met, the base credit increases from 6% to 30% for each project–and it brings more skilled workers into the industry at a time when they are desperately needed. This is outstanding motivation to get things right! 

Governor Phil Scott was joined by students and industry leaders, including ABC NH/VT CEO and President Josh Reap, at his weekly press conference today to proclaim October as Careers in Construction Month in Vermont, recognizing the many career opportunities within the construction industry.

ABC NH/VT announced today their endorsement of Governor Chris Sununu in his bid for re-election for governor. The endorsement was announced at the building site of Red Oak at 409 Elm Street in Manchester, NH, a project to bring more housing to the city.

These overreaching policies will cost taxpayers a fortune while undermining critical taxpayer investments in America’s infrastructure.
