Description:
This course introduces issues relevant to the fundamentals of structures including static, strength, and stability of materials.
Objectives:
- Describe code requirements
- Explain structural design principles and terminology
- Identify structural design examples including:
- Load determination Tributary area
- Availability of materials
- Moment diagrams
- Concrete footing design
- Design of joists, rafters, and beams
- Steel
- Sheer diagrams
- Building stability
- Concrete walls
- Connections
