Education Series: A Contractor’s Guide to Federal Labor Law Compliance

ABC NH/VT is pleased to announce a new educational series that will provide important information about labor laws and compliance and their impact on contractors.

The series, "A Contractor’s Guide to Federal Labor Law Compliance: An Overview of Three Acts Enforced by the Wage & Hour Division", will be offered via Zoom. The series will be facilitated by Brian Cleasby, Community Outreach and Resource Planning Specialist with the US Department of Labor's Wage & Hour Division. The series open to members and non-members and registration is $15 per person. 

Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
March 31, 8:30-10:00 a.m.

The presentation will cover the minimum wage, overtime, child labor, and hours worked requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act, with particular focus given to the construction industry. Register

Davis-Bacon and Related Acts (DBRA)
April 7, 8:30-10:00 a.m.

The presentation will discuss compliance principles under the DBRA with respect to federal prevailing wage construction projects, including prevailing wage and fringe benefits, site of work, laborers & mechanics, apprentices, and payroll/recordkeeping requirements. Register

Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
April 14, 8:30-10:00 a.m.

The presentation will discuss employee job protection rights under the Family and Medical Leave Act for employers with at least 50 workers, and will include information related to leave and notification requirements, employer coverage, employee eligibility, qualifying reasons for leave, and the military family leave provisions.
