Lead RRP EPA Certified Training

The federally-regulated requirements are mandatory and potential penalties are substantial. The general rule addresses remodeling and renovation projects disturbing lead-based paint in housing and/or child occupied facilities built before 1978. Activities include, but are not limited to, repair, maintenance, electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry and window replacement. 

This course is approved for purposes of certification under Section 420 of TSCA for the initial Renovator Course (English). Each attendee will receive a certificate demonstrating their successful completion. 

Mandatory EPA Certification for remodelers working on buildings built before 1978

Effective April 22, 2010 the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s Lead-Based Paint Renovation, Repair & Painting Program Rule (40 CFR Part 745) requires:

1) workers to be trained to use Lead-Safe work practices and, 
2) renovation firms to be EPA-certified.

  • Anyone who received  their EPA certification during or before 2014
  • Anyone remodeling or renovating housing and/or child occupied facilities built before 1978 that could disturb lead-based paint.
  • Contractors working at military facilities.
