Events & Education
Beginning March 17, 2020 all education and safety training courses, networking events and committee meetings will be suspended through the month of April in an effort to limit exposure risks. The only exception is our Construction Law Series, which will be held using ZOOM remote learning technology. All participants will be contacted with instructions.

Helpful Information for You and Your Company Locations: 

Please consider reviewing the CDC's recommendations including:
  • Encourage employees to stay home if they are sick, except to get medical care. Learn what to do if you are sick.
  • Encourage proper hand washing and healthy hygiene.
  • Wear a facemask if you are sick.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Limit face-to-face meetings. Leverage videoconferencing when possible.
  • Print, post and share information about prevention tips throughout your facility.

ABC NH/VT Headquarters & Staff

ABC NH/VT chapter staff have been taking, and will continue to take, increased cleaning and sanitizing steps at our Concord headquarters using approved disinfectant products. While we always strive to maintain a clean facility, our efforts have increased with additional precautions for the safety of our members, visitors and staff.  At this time, the chapter office will maintain normal business hours, and all staff are available to continue providing you with services and assistance. New Hampshire
  • 6/29 – There are no changes for the construction sector, but NH continues to ease restrictions on recreational activities and related businesses. Governor Sununu’s “Safer at Home” order provides guidance and information for amusement parks, camps and more. 
  • 5/1 – Construction may continue operating as an essential business. Stay at Home 2.0 & Reopening Guidelines for other businesses. This modification of the existing order allows the “flexing open” for the economy, phased in over the next few weeks.
  • As of 4/13, New Hampshire’s order remains unchanged and construction is an “essential business” and the state encourages contractors to follow its COVID-19 healthy jobsites guidance, which can be found here.

Vermont
  • 6/29 – Essential Travel: VT currently allows individuals to enter without quarantining for work and if they have not been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the past 24 hours or experience symptoms of the illness. 
  • 6.29 – Leisure Travel Restrictions Ease: As part of the VT Restart effort, Governor Scott recently announced an easing of travel restrictions from out of state counties that have less than 400 active cases per million residents. This information is updated on a rolling basis. We recommend you visit this page regularly for updates. 
  • Contractors may resume limited in-person operations, including the following restrictions:
    (As of May 1, 2020)
    • Train your employees using VOSHA online training
    • Follow these general guidelines
    • Post signage around the workplace
    • Adopt construction-specific reopening and training plan.
    • Work crews of 10 (ten) people per location/job
    • Large projects can have crews up to 10 (ten) people per floor. Must not come into contact with other crews. Start times must be staggered to avoid gatherings
    • Interior construction with no more than ten workers must maintain social distance between workers whenever possible.
    • If commuting from another state into VT, the employee is commuting to a construction site, with more than 10 people on site, the employer should request approval through the Agency’s guidance request form before traveling.
    • Mandatory health & safety requirements 
  • 4/27, Construction contractors can resume working in Vermont, if they follow new state safety requirements. Read more
  • Effective 4/20, Vermont Governor Scott issued an order to allow the phased restart of work in Vermont. Limited outdoor and indoor work can being with a "maximum of 2 total workers per location/job." Albeit limited, work can resume in some capacity. See link for further details.
  • Vermont Governor Scott has extended the state’s Stay-Home order through May 15th. Again, this order requires all non-essential businesses to remain closed or work remotely. Constructions is not exempted except for emergency repair work and COVID-19 related recovery. There is speculation that the state may evaluate that date but so far such things remain rumor.
