As we find ourselves working remotely and having to meet with colleagues and clients remotely, here are some helpful tips to consider:
Virtual Meeting Etiquette
- Prepare for the meeting in advance
- Select the appropriate meeting platform
- Send an invitation to those who you'd like to attend
- Share a clear agenda
- Appoint a meeting facilitator
- Assign tasks
- Set a start time
- Start on time
- Create a pleasant environment
- Stay on track
- Help people stay focused
- Minimize distractions
- Mute when you're not speaking to minimize noise
- Finish the meeting with clear action items
- Distribute meeting notes or a summary, including action items and deadlines
