NH Tax Credit for Contractors Involved in CTE-driven Workforce Initiatives

You can now take a tax deduction for your contributions made to New Hampshire Career and Technical Education Centers (CTE) centers.

Contractors who donate time and or materials to a CTE center will receive a 50% tax benefit, which is helpful especially now.

Examples of eligible donations include:

  • Speaking to a class
  • Donating materials or tools for use by the CTE center
  • 50% of the salary paid to interns, apprentices, and trainees enrolled in a CTE center program
  • Transportation costs

The donation must be done through a CTE program. You will want to submit the easy-to-do paperwork within a month of performing the act of good will. More guidance can be found here and the Donation form here

COVID-19 Update

Vermont Governor Scott has extended the state’s Stay-Home order through May 15th. Again, this order requires all non-essential businesses to remain closed or work remotely. Constructions is not exempted except for emergency repair work and COVID-19 related recovery. There is speculation that the state may evaluate that date but so far such things remain rumor.

New Hampshire’s order remains unchanged and construction is an “essential business” and the state encourages contractors to follow its COVID-19 healthy job sites guidance, which can be found here.

Contractor Town Halls
Things are changing at a rapid pace, so we now host a semi-weekly Contractor Town Hall. This is an informal information sharing call where contractors can talk to each other and share best practices. Space is limited, so to be added to this list, please reply to me with a request an invitation to the next call.
