2012 CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY WAGE AND BENEFIT SURVEY– LAST CHANCE!  (02/06/2012)

The NH/VT ABC Chapter is finalizing the collection of data for its annual Wage & Benefit Survey. If you have already responded, thank you. If you have not, why not! PLEASE, we need your data to help make certain we have a comprehensive, valuable survey that may be used to support the wage and benefit practices of construction professionals. Go to www.abcnhvt.org for a copy of the survey form and to complete it on line or contact the chapter office for a copy. This anonymous survey is the only one of its kind available in our area. The survey data is extremely important to members’ efforts to understand current wage and benefit practices and to maintain competitive practices to attract and retain quality employees.  In addition to ABC Members, the results are made available to owners who may be purchasing construction services and are subjected to union campaigns that include inaccurate statements about merit shop wage and benefit practices. The survey results provide factual data to counter the anecdotal references made by union representatives.  The survey results are also used in the legislative arena and other public policy decision making forums to provide documented evidence of the wage and benefit practices of merit shop contractors.

In recent years the survey questions have been changed to gather more specific information concerning health care benefits. The increasing cost of health care is a major challenge for all members and the survey results will provide valuable insight.  Last year’s survey included responses from over 60 contractors and covered wage and benefit practices for 21 classifications of employees. Your survey response is important to assure we receive enough data to provide as much information for as many employee classifications as possible on this year’s survey.  Please contact the Chapter Office with any questions.  Also, if you would like a copy of last year’s survey results contact the Chapter Office.
