The 2010 Excellence In Construction Entry Forms are at the printer’s and will be mailed to member contractors soon. Now more than ever there is no better opportunity for your company to promote professionalism, create recognition of your capabilities and to create excitement among employees and reward them for their accomplishments. The publicity received by award winners is invaluable and helps promote the awareness of the impact your company and the construction industry has on everyone’s lives.
This year’s entry deadline is July 9, 2010. Projects entered must have been completed between January 1, 2008 and January 1, 2010. Two new awards are now included. Upon reviewing the entries, judges may determine awards for projects that demonstrate excellence in the areas of Sustainable Building and Community Service. All entrants are encouraged to include reference to their efforts with sustainable construction practices and/or community service with their project entry.
Watch your ABC communications for a workshop to be scheduled in March to provide insight and support for anyone who may be interested in submitting an entry. As in the past, the Excellence Committee encourages contractors to consider important steps to begin the process:
Select a “Champion” to be responsible for coordinating the entry production and instigating support from project team members.
Review the criteria and select your project(s) as soon as possible.
