Building on the success of last years one day Construction Career Day event, a two day event has been scheduled for September 23rd and 24th, at the Hopkington State Fair Grounds, in Hopkington, NH. Come help us introduce students to our industry. We are looking for employers to participate in the 2010 Construction Career Day event.
Employers are to have hands on activities for the kids. Kids will range in age from 13 to 18 and come from schools throughout the state. The schools cover all of the student insurance for the day. The expectation is that there will be more than 900 kids attending over the two days!

Expectations for the employers attending:
Employers will need to bring all materials and equipment for their activity. That includes safety equipment needed for the kids to use. OSHA will be present and they will be going around to the kids letting them know if they are working safely.
We will need to know what type of project or activity you are planning so we can put it in a press release. Also to ensure there are a variety of projects. If, for example we have two plumbing companies we would want two different activities.

Remember, the future of the construction industry is dependent on attracting workers and it is up to all of us to participate and help promote construction careers. Last years event truly opened the eyes of many kids who had no idea about all the exciting career opportunities in construction. Let’s work to make this year’s event even more successful!
