All businesses are focused on operating as efficiently as possible and seeking cost saving opportunities. ABC is an important resource to provide on going business development and educational programs to make certain you “stay in touch” with current industry information and take advantage of programs to develop an efficient productive workforce at all levels. ABC has many Tangible discount programs available to help support efforts to reduce operating cost. Some highlighted programs that are of interest and being taken advantage of by many members include:

Phone and Data Service Discount - ABC has signed an agreement to offer ABC contractor member firms up to a 20 percent discount on monthly cell phone calling plans and data services. Family members of corporate subscribers that sign on to the ABC plan also will be eligible for discounts of 15 percent on their personal lines. The ABC program will be available in mid September and applies to both existing and new subscribers.

Vehicle Discounts – As members were informed in June, ABC members can continue to take advantage of the discounts on General Motors vehicles offered through ABC. Despite the auto makers issues, GM will continue to honor the agreement. ABC members are eligible for discounts on 2008 and 2009 model year vehicles of up to $500 on cars, $1000 on trucks and $2000 on cargo vans. It is important to note that these discounts can be combined, on top of other GM incentive already in place.

Gas Discounts – ABC members get a 5 cents per gallon rebate at all Exxon or Mobile gas stations. No card fee, no minimums, and all controls are managed by Exxon – Mobile Fleet Service. Included are detailed, easy to read management reports for job costing and to track usage.

Although not as many station locations, ABC also has a discount program with Shell. Save 3% on your company fuel purchases at Shell stations. Again, no fees, no minimums and detailed, easy to read management reports.

Dental Insurance – ABC Wage and Benefit survey showed that 71% of employers provide dental insurance and contribute on average 49% of the employees premium. The survey showed that the average single monthly premium is $43 dollars, the average family monthly premium is $124 dollars. Through ABCs Merit Choice Dental Program the single monthly premium is $25, the single family premium is $75!! Many members are taking advantage of this big savings or now that it is affordable, making dental coverage available.

Wage and Benefits – A significant topic for all companies, it is important to understand current industry practices. Do not forget, ABCs annual wage and benefit survey results are available to member firms. The information includes responses from 90 contractors, providing data for 27 classifications of employees. Included is wage data, information covering health/dental insurance coverage and cost as well as other fringe benefits.
