Beginning in early October ABC has scheduled breakfast meetings to provide information and updates on important industry issues. The events also provide an opportunity for members to meet with industry peers and network to “stay in touch” and help with business development efforts. Now, more than ever ABC means business.
Construction Industry “Best Practices”
Wednesday, October 7, 8AM – 11AM
FMI Corporation will present best practices from their contractor clients nationwide. Insights and strategies to manage and lead during a challenging economy and how to position your company to be in shape when the construction market improves.
Contract Requirements, Administration and Compliance on Publically Funded Projects
Tuesday, October 20, 8AM – 11AM
Representatives from the Department of Administrative Services, Department of Labor and the University System will discuss contract and project administration changes and compliance issues for public projects.
Workers Compensation and Wage and Hour Regulations, Compliance and Inspections
Tuesday, November 17, 8AM – 11AM
Inspection activity has increased. Representatives from the Department of Labor will present information on the classification of employees vs independent contractors as well as wage and hour regulations. A “mock” inspection process will be included.
Legal Aspects of Project Delivery and Change Orders
Tuesday, December 15, 8AM – 11AM
The issue of reviewing, revising and understanding construction contracts is more important now than ever. The relationships and success of your projects are dependent on the contract language. This program will cover contract review and what is most important to be aware of before construction begins and during the project.
